The Vintage Chambray and Straw Bag

The Chambray

I love what happens when you mix a piece that has tons of character with something fresh and new. Crisp white jeans are a summer staple that will always be in heavy rotation for me. Another must have is a good chambray shirt, and let me tell you, there's nothing more comfortable than a vintage chambray!

I found this one a year ago at a local vintage shop called Atomic Athens and I wear it way too much. I love it so much that when I came across a similar one at the same shop a year later, I snatched it up! The newer one (I'll photograph later) is a tad big on me but it's going to make for a really fantastic swimsuit cover up at the pool. I can't wait to show you the embroidery on it - it's insane! If you can't find one at a local shop, check on Esty. There are lots of options for women and a few even for men on there!

The Straw Bag

I've been looking for a great one for two summers now and I just found the perfect one last week at Dynamite downtown. It's vintage and the leather strap is beautifully worn. The strap just needs a good oiling and it'll be perfect. If you're on the hunt for a classic straw bag that will look great for years, I suggest looking in vintage shops before buying brand new.

These jeans will serve as a replacement for a pair of white jeans I've had for several years now. My old ones were starting to stretch out too much and weren't quite as bright white as they once were. It was time for a new pair. You can find this exact pair at Banana Republic (links below). I'm 5"4' and bought a 2P and the length is perfection.

But back to that chambray...

Look at this dragon!!

Look at it!! :'D

I'm pretty sure this shirt was someone's practice garment for embroidery. It has the most random things embroidered on it! And several pieces printed that the artist never got around to finishing. I'm considering having someone finish this barn scene.

What do you think? Should I leave it as is or finish it out? Tell me in the comments below!
